Monica Bellucci is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful women in the world. The Italian bombshell is known for her full head of straight black hair, so it’s a bit of surprise to see her working the curls in this picture. Unsurprisingly, however, I love it! And although Monica looks like a million bucks, it will cost you precious little money and time to dupe this look at home.

First, you’re going to need a curling iron. The best curling irons are ceramic curling irons, for one simple reason: They’re good to your hair, unlike metal versions, which can cause serious dryness and damage.

After you’ve invested in a high quality curling iron with a ceramic barrel, make sure your hair is completely dry before you begin the styling process. (Unless your styling tool specifies that it can be used on wet or dry hair, it’s never a good idea to use curling or flat irons on hair that is damp!) Divide hair into small section (about 1″) and wrap around the barrel. You don’t even have to use the clamp; simply wrapping the piece around the iron and leave it there for a few seconds will do.

Choose the size of the iron based on the size of the curls you want. It looks like Monica used an iron with a smaller barrel to create her sexy corkscrews; look for a 1-1 1/2″ iron.

If you want beautiful, natural-looking curly hair without all the frizz, the best solution is ceramic curling irons. There is nothing worse than frizzy hair - you might even feel like pulling it all out and starting over! But choosing the right curling iron can help keep your hair soft, sleek, moisturized and protected - and it all starts with ceramic curling irons.

First and foremost, a better curling iron means better results. When you use the same curling iron as professional hair stylists - and most stylists swear by ceramic curling irons - you’ll be able to achieve the same professional results with just a little practice. Plus, professional irons will not singe, burn or otherwise damage your hair the way that some other kinds of curling irons can, and the large variety of makes and models available ensures that you’ll be able to create a wide variety of styles with little effort beyond learning basic curling techniques.

Unlike metal barrels, which can burn hair, ceramic barrels actually seal the cuticle and help the hair retain its natural moisture. Everyone who uses a curling iron needs to invest in a high-end ceramic model - as close to professional curling irons as possible - if they want to keep their hair looking its best.

If you are interested in curling irons and curling your hair, then you probably have heard that ceramic curling irons are the way to go for your hair. They are less damaging, create a more effective curl and can make you look like Gisele. Well, maybe not her in anyway except the curl in your hair, but you get the idea. Ceramic curling irons are magical. But why?

Turns out it actually does have a little bit to do with magic. The ceramic material on your curling iron allows for a more even heating surface and is less damaging because it emits negatively charged ions. These negative ions are actually positive (har har) for your hair because they act as smoothing agents. The moisture and oils in your hair remains in tact which means less splitting of the follicle. The ceramic surface also creates a smooth area for the heat to be distributed on. If a curling iron is too hot in some places but not hot enough in others, then the end result of your curling expedition will be for naught.

Remember: when you are investing in a curling iron, ceramic curling irons are the positive solution because of their negative ions!

Check out the folllowing 1″ curling irons or 2-inch curling irons.

My hair has been giving me all sorts of problems lately. I can’t seem to make my hairstyle work. I just want it to be easy but I always require some sort of extra step. There is no air drying with my hair. If I air dry, my hair looks like a frizzy mess. I don’t understand why it looks worse when technically it should look a bit healthier, since I’m not using anything damaging to make it look that way. I was talking about this with my friend and she said that maybe it was the tools I was using when I actually “did” my hair. My hair just might be damaged from all the abuse it goes through to look somewhat decent. So that would be why my hair looks so raggedy when it air dries. She asked if I used ceramic curling irons and I said I wasn’t sure…which said to her that I don’t. She said that making an effort to only use ceramic curling irons or straighteners, like the CHI straightener or other CHI hair products, will make a big difference. Apparently a ceramic curling iron will distribute heat evenly and will cause less damage. So before I do something drastic…like shave my head…I guess I’ll buy new tools for my hair. I’ll let you know how it goes!

When it comes to achieving sleek, straight hair like Jennifer Connelly’s, it may seem safe to assume that a flat iron was used to smooth and straighten her locks. But wait! Flat irons are not the only game in town for straightening hair. In fact, you could even use your trusty curling iron to get the job done. It’s true! Ceramic curling irons are versatile styling tools, and their utility extends far beyond basic techniques for creating curls and waves. If you want a sophisticated straight style like Jennifer’s, it’s easy to do - and you don’t even have to buy a straightener! Just grab a ceramic curling iron and get to work.

Start with dry hair and divide into sections, as you would before curling (or straightening with a flat iron). If you’d like, you can use a thermal protectant before beginning the straightening process. Next, take your curling iron (ceramic curling irons are preferable to metal ones, because they inflict less damage on the vulnerable hair shaft) and clamp it near the root of your hair, as close to the scalp as possible. Then, slowly pull the iron down the length of your hair, keeping it straight rather than twisting your hair around the barrel. Repeat with the remaining sections of your hair. Ta-da - you have straight hair! Is there anything that curling irons can’t do!?

If you’re not already a ceramic curling iron convert, you are seriously missing out! Metal curling irons can do serious damage to your hair, even if you’re an experienced stylist - they’re simply inferior to their ceramic counterparts. Here are a few of the biggest reasons why you need to spring for a ceramic curling iron today:

Ceramic curling irons are less damaging to hair. While metal irons can burn, singe or cook your hair, ceramic plates actually preserve moisture by sealing your hair’s cuticles. This makes your hair soft, shiny and healthy overall.

Ceramic irons heat faster and more evenly. This makes them easier to use, whether you’re an expert or a novice, and will speed up the styling process to boot.

When you take care of it properly, your ceramic curling iron should last much longer than a metal one. But before you invest, make sure that you’re buying an iron with a truly ceramic barrel, rather than a metal barrel with a layer or two of ceramic over it. Ceramic curling irons are usually more expensive, but they are definitely worth the higher price. Just take care not to crack the ceramic, wind the cord around the handle or otherwise abuse your iron, and you can rely on it for years to come!

Everyone wants beautiful hair, right? (Well, every woman, at least…I’m not sure if most men want their hair to be described as “beautiful,” although you never know!) But unless you’re one of the very, very lucky few who was born with naturally gorgeous locks, having amazing hair requires some serious work. At least, that’s what I used to think…before I discovered my personal secret weapon in the fight against boring, lackluster hair: The humble curling iron! It may seem obvious to some, but I really had no idea how much of a difference a curling iron would make in the way I feel about my hair, and as an extension, myself. Curling irons give me the freedom to wear my long, straight, relatively “blah” hair in a variety of ways. I can use a large-barreled iron to give myself big, sexy, flowing waves. I can use a spiral curling iron with a small barrel to give myself tight, springy, classic curls. You can even straighten your hair with a large-barreled iron, which is great for those days when the frizzies pop up! Above all else, I swear by ceramic curling irons over metal ones. Ceramic curling irons won’t damage your hair, and they heat up faster - and hold the heat longer - which means that you’ll spend less time styling and more time looking fabulous. Every woman needs to own at least one!

From Twilight, which I’ve mentioned previously, to the HBO show True Blood, to the CW’s new series the Vampire Diaries. Nina Dobrev, pictured here, however does not play a vampire. She falls for a gorgeous brooding vampire called Stefan…and has to put up with his not so nice older brother Damon, who is also totally smoking hot and possibly into her as well. I’ve been watching Vampire Diaries all season and I’m so sad that season is slowly coming to a close. There’s a lot of fans who are totally rooting for her to get with Stefan but personally, I am a huge Damon fan all the way. There’s just something about the ‘bad boy’ that every girl gravitates to, I know I do.

How does the Vampire Diaries’ Elena manage to attract the attentions of the hottest guys in her small town of Mystic Falls? Her best friend IS a witch after all… Well, I can’t tell you that as I doubt even she knows. What I can tell you is that her hair is immaculate. Its shiny, long, and the soft waves in this photo are just begging that guy in her life to run his fingers through it.

Regardless of your hair type, you can use a ceramic curling iron to imitate this young star’s luscious locks. To get hair just like Nina’s I would use a wider barrel width, so you don’t end up looking like Annie instead, and finish it off with some sleek product so it keeps its bounce and doesn’t get frizzy. Because you’re using a ceramic curling iron you shouldn’t have too much of a problem with the frizzy part as they don’t burn or damage your hair as badly as other irons.

A lot of people I know don’t really care for Kim Kardashian. They say she’s one of those “famous for being famous” types, which I guess is true…but there’s one thing about Kim that can’t be denied: She always looks absolutely flawless, particularly when it comes to her hair and makeup! Just look at this picture of her! Her hair is so sleek, shiny and curly, and I love how it cascades down past her shoulders. I would be willing to be good money that Kim swears by ceramic curling irons. No one can look that perfect without being a little high maintenance, and everyone knows that metal curling irons will totally burn or even cook your hair. Ceramic curling irons, on the other hand, will protect your hair and leave it looking even shinier and smoother than it did before. Plus, since they’re able to maintain and conduct heat much better than metal, ceramic curling irons make it easier to style your hair in the first place. That means that you can imitate Kim’s “krazy kurls” yourself at home, without much trouble! I know I absolutely swear by my ceramic curling irons. I have two: One with a 1 1/2″ barrel and one with a 3/4″ barrel. I use the larger ones to make waves and the smaller one for tight curls. They’re both awesome! You need to get one if you haven’t already.
